All students at AICJ have recently undertaken end of year examinations. For Saturn 10 students, this term has been especially challenging as they have begun their IB Diploma. To give students some respite after the exam period, class sports matches were arranged which all students participated in and thoroughly enjoyed.

I will be attending the annual IB Asia-Pacific Conference in Hyderabad, India next week. This a great opportunity for AICJ to form connections with other IB schools around the Asia-Pacific region and get updates on forthcoming changes to the IB educational programmes. I look forward to sharing what I learn at the conference with teachers and students at AICJ.

Thank you for reading this blog.

Welcome to any first time blog visitors and welcome back to regular blog visitors,

On March 1st, our AICJ Senior High School graduation was held. The ceremony ran smoothly and all the students and parents enjoyed the wonderful occasion. The ceremony consisted of an opening speech by myself, followed by a speech by the school chairman, Meishi Sonobe and our special guest, Momoko Ise.

The general theme of the speeches was the changing global environment and the challenges that the grade 12 students may face when they enter the workplace, and the important role they have in shaping the future of Japan both nationally and internationally.

The students were also encouraged to utilize the school Learner Profile, such as being reflective, inquirers, communicators and balanced, as they go through life to help guide them and help them to fulfil their potential.

Following the ceremony, the majority of students and the grade 12 teachers and school executives, attended a party that was put on and organized by the PTA. It was wonderful to see all the parents and students looking so happy and we wish them all the best for the future.

The rest of the students are currently busy sitting their final exams, and have the class matches to look forward to this month, before the end of term ceremony and junior high school graduation on March 18th.

Thank you for visiting this blog.
