AICJ JHS Grade 7 and 8

In the first two years students are enrolled in our immersion program. The immersion program exposes students to English in more than one subject for example maths, science, PE, IT and Music therefore providing them with the opportunity to develop English language ability more naturally.

Of course acquiring Japanese is crucial. At AICJ we help students to develop their Japanese language skills so they can develop their ability to think, create, judge and express themselves which help them to study and understand other subjects. The MEXT JHS curriculum is taught in the first two years of school at AICJ allowing students to begin their high school education from grade 9, a year earlier.

AICJ JHS (Todai-sokei Course)

The todai-sokei course aims to send students to elite public and private universities (Toyko, Kyoto, Osaka, Hitotsubashi, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Waseda, Keoi and Sophia Universities) straight from high school.

The Japanese language is the main method of communication on this course. In grade 9 students begin their SHS curriculum in Maths, Japanese and English. By the end of grade 10 students have finished their grade 11 curriculum. On this course students not only study what is required to pass University entrance exams but how to solve problems and think logically. In addition, students are taught to express themselves orally and in writing to make themselves clearly understood.

AICJ JHS (Immersion Course)

English immersion education is provided for two years in G7 and G8 at AICJ. The immersion course prepares students for advanced studies which meet global standards. While studying in Japan, students can aim for entry to top universities not only in Japan but also overseas. Students learn all subjects in English mostly with the exception of Japanese. In addition, morning and afternoon short homeroom classes and long homeroom classes held once a week are also conducted in English. Students with outstanding academic performance have a chance to take a New Zealand short study abroad program if they are interested.
